Serialize fontdialog data

I want to give users an opportunity to change the font face, size, color, etc in an application. I have been doing some research and it seems that the most effective way is to serialize the data.

So what I have so far is to use fontdialog to let the user set everything. But I have no clue how to serialize the data and then pull it back out after the program reopens.

Can anyone provide any input or example code on how to do this or point me to a tutorial somewhere?
