VB.Net Controls and limitations on designview for data grid view, tree view, list view etc all seem to be limited to design customization.... like take a look at this: http://i.imgur.com/0zdHBOF.png how do you get the name, tracking, ingame, fields to display in that color instead of having that horrible default gray? is there a simple way to change the colors? another thing that i hate is the default scrollbars which is also gray and why is it difficult to create a design which allows rounded corners and why are vb.net forms non transparent?
Why is the functionality for customization to vb.net controls so bad? the reason i want to change these colors and stuff is because i designed my own forms which are dark and cool looking, but the gray on all the controls that dont have an obvious way to change the colors, takes the look off my app... now i know you can get "themes" but they dont help since they never cover all the controls and there is always one or two controls which was not modified. i know its meant to be a lot easier to establish the look and feel that i want in c++, but vb.net is the language i love and enjoy working with and therefor dont want to redesign everything i did in c++. What are your methods and techniques for hacking or manipulating these controls to have a different look and feel?
What do you hate about some vb.net controls and what is your solution to manipulating those pet-hates you dislike so much? i thought this would be an interesting topic which some of us could learn methods from others and discuss some tips and tricks. :)
