Ok so I am a long time reader of vbforums (.net section) & a new member.
Did some exhaustive searching for a thread about the perfect pc build for a programmer & couldn't find anything current. So I'm here for some help!
I am a visual basic .net 2010 programmer, I also do a lot of photoshop/photo editing in batch & video editing/processing. I have a basic idea of what I need...so here goes...
I'm looking for a quad or 8 core cpu, a good gpu/...a great motherboard....a new case & maybe a liquid cooling system (if there's enough $ left over)
I already have 16gb of brand new DDRIII 1600 + A brand new corsair 128gb SSD + a brand new WD Black 1TB HD(which i spent lots of $ on and will be keeping for my new pc build)
And I've already got an awesome mouse/keyboard/wifi device/24" Monitor. So all i need is a new case, cpu, gpu, cooling system, power supply & motherboard.
The reason I'm asking here? Well who better to ask than the best & brightest "fellow coders". I think I'll certainly get better information here than at a gaming forum right?
And finally my last pc build was done by a friend of mine & as of today my PC won't turn on. It's only been 1 year! Instead of fixing it...I'm replacing it!
So who here with some background in hardware can suggest the perfect build list/build suggestion for me? I am attemping to stay under the $900 mark but there is some wiggle room!
Thank you for any suggestions/parts lists/build checklist etc. It's really appreciated because I have no idea where to start <3
