Get Highest Folder index

Hi Peeps,
I haven't been around for a while, but want to revisit an old prog I was working on.

We use a system where we create a Job folder, with a index at the start, followed by an underscore and a brief description of the client and job. (i.e. "123456_New_Job_somewhere")
I need to check that somebody hasn't created a folder outside of my app. I am using 'if exists', but need the actual numerical value (plus 1) to start creating new folders.
There are folders with just text names but we aren't interested in them, as my app only creates new Job folders (and associated subfolders), but I must put the highest current Job number in the text box rather than searching manually.

Is there an easy way to get numerical folder values only (i.e. IsNumeric and PreviousValue<=LastValue)
Sorry I'm still a beginner at this.
Hope I didn't blabber too long, and that you understand what I'm up to. :D

Regards
GB
